 Summer 1995 - Hurricane' Erin & Opal

In September 1995, hurricane Erin passed through the area, while a direct hit, not really much damage occurred.  I had some shingles come off the roof, but the main damage was the wind blew out all the screens from a screened in porch that was on the front of my house.  I decided that it was the timing was good to upgrade the area and enclose it to the main part of the house. Wouldn't you know that before I could even get it finished that hurricane Opal, 60 days later, came through the area leaving a meter ( three feet ) of sand in my yard from the storm surge.  Trying to keep my truck safe I parked it by the side door, under the windows however the water took my truck to the front of the house and half buried it!  The adventures of living in a paradise!
